Slimming

Slimming or weight loss,  is a reduction of the total body mass, due to a mean loss of fluid, body fat or adipose tissue and/or lean mass, namely bone mineral deposits, muscle, tendon and other connective tissue.
A good “Weight loss” or slimming program refers to the loss of total body mass in an effort to improve fitness and health, and to change appearance. Therapeutic weight loss, in individuals who are overweight or obese, can decrease the likelihood of developing diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, osteoarthritis, and certain types of cancer. Keep slim and healthier is an important treatment for everyone. Attention to diet in particular can be extremely beneficial in reducing the impact of diabetes and other health risks of an expanding waist.
Weight loss occurs when an individual is in a state of negative energy balance. When the body is consuming more energy (i.e. in work and heat) than it is gaining (i.e. from food or other nutritional supplements), it will use stored reserves from fat or muscle, gradually leading to weight loss.
It is not uncommon for some people who are currently at their ideal body weight to seek additional weight loss in order to improve athletic performance, and/or meet required weight classification for participation in a sport. However, others may be driven by achieving a more attractive body image. Consequently, being underweight is associated with health risks such as difficulty fighting off infection, osteoporosis, decreased muscle strength, trouble regulating body temperature and even increased risk of death.
Our consultant believe Mesotherapy always is the fastest way to promoting result driven slimming solution. Mesotherapy is the practice of using microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medication and/or vitamins into the mesoderm or middle layer of skin to deliver healing or corrective treatment to a specific area of the body. Mesotherapy has been touted as the latest breakthrough for bodysculpting, cellulite reduction and skin rejuvenation.
Beside that, we do offering our client with health association approval slimming capsules for oral taking solution.

MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is one of the most requested non-surgical cosmetic procedures for cellulite treatment, liposculpting and body contouring, facial rejuvenation treatments, weight loss and hair-regrowth.
Mesotherapy has been proven successful with significant effect in anti-aging and skin rejuvenation particularly on the face and neck. With the injection of multi-vitamins, amino acids and mineral cocktails, it helps in fighting free radicals, stimulating fibroblasts, accelerating renewal of skin layers and re-hydrating the extra-cellular matrix. As a result, it smoothen wrinkles, lightens pigmentation/superficial skin layers and enhances tone, elasticity as well as microcirculation.
Today, mesotherapy treatments are still among the most effective adjuvant therapies available, particularly for weight loss and cellulite reduction. It is a proven solution for spot weight reduction and elimination of cellulite. Often, cellulite and excessive fats deposits appeared on thighs, hips tummy, shoulder and arms. Mesotherapy targets these problem areas and seeks to reduce them over a period of time. Each patient is different and the results will vary depending upon a variety of factors and the number of treatments. However you could possibly experience a significant reduction of unwanted cellulite deposits in as soon as 5 weeks.
How it works:
The principle behind the treatment is through delivery of small quantities of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and medications directly to the desired area of the face, body, or hair using a painless microinjection technique.

MESO-LIPO (for Post-Liposuction)
A cocktail of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and supplements is administered in a specific area of your body. This blocks the cells at that area from storing fats while stimulating its burn up the fats. The vitamins, minerals and amino acids tighten the skin, while the lipolytic agent helps break down the existing fat cells. The liquefied fat will then be flushed out naturally from your body. You can see a gradual loss of inches, tightening of skin and smoothing cellulite after a few sessions. The targeted body areas for this treatment are the abdomen/stomach, thighs, hips, back, waist, and underarms.
How it works:
- It dissolves excess fat deposits in just the right place.
– It helps you lose inches, decrease bulk and improve your body shape and contour.
– It removes fibrotic, hardened connective tissue and hence, improves the appearance of your skin with the reduction of cellulite.
– It smoothes and tightens your skin.
– No downtime.

MESO-LIFT (For firming and lifting skin)
This procedure involves micro-injections of minerals, anti-oxidants, hyaluronic acid and vitamins into the dermal-epidermal junction of the skin to rejuvenate and revitalize your face. The results are improved skin hydration and elasticity, enhanced skin tone, disappearance of fine lines and balanced skin pigmentation.
Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are essential to rejuvenate your skin cells making them metabolically active, thus stimulating collagen and elastin production. Hyaluronic acid on the other hand provides more active and longer lasting hydration to prevent and combat skin aging.

TUMMY TUCK
There are several different tummy tuck techniques. The most common procedure is performed under general anesthesia, called a full tummy tuck.
If your only problem area is below the belly button, you may benefit from a less complex procedure called a mini tummy tuck, which can often be performed on an outpatient basis, under local anesthetic, such as that used by dentists. Or, your surgeon may recommend either a mini, full or extended tummy tuck, done in conjunction with liposuction to remove fat deposits from the hips, for a better body contour. Sometimes liposuction alone offers the best results.

MINI TUMMY TUCK
A mini tummy tuck, or partial/mini abdominoplasty, is a great option for people who have a small amount of abdominal skin to be removed and do not have a significantly protruding abdominal muscle wall. Individuals whose tummies are sagging with age or people who would just like to sculpt a slim tummy into a more desirable shape may find that a mini tummy tuck is an excellent option for them. (Please view right picture for length of scar, which is short and inconspicious.)
Mini tummy tuck surgery may be performed under general anesthesia, but is usually completed with a local anesthetic and mild sedation. The surgeon will make a smaller incision than a traditional/full tummy tuck requires, but the length of the incision will depend on the amount of skin to be removed. This is why mini tummy tuck surgery is also sometimes known as a “scarless tummy tuck.” The surgeon usually does not have to reposition the navel. Next, the surgeon will stretch the skin and shape it by cutting away the excess and stitching the remaining skin into place.
This frequently is performed with liposuction to sculpt the tummy into the desired shape.

FULL TUMMY TUCK
A traditional tummy tuck is best suited for healthy individuals who are fairly physically fit, but are unable to achieve their desired abdominal appearance through diet and exercise. Women whose abdominal skin and muscles have been stretched by pregnancy or further damaged by cesarean sections are good candidates for treatment. Tummy tuck procedures are also excellent for individuals who have experienced dramatic weight loss, but are unhappy with the sagging belly left behind. Both women and men can be appropriate candidates for tummy tucks. (Please view right picture for length of scar, which extends just toward the hip area.)
In the full tummy tuck procedure, the surgeon will make a long incision along the bikini-line, often from hip to hip. Next, the navel will be cut away from the surrounding tissue, because it will need to be returned to the proper position once the skin has been stretched into place. Usually the surgeon will tighten the abdominal muscle wall by stitching the muscles into position. The surgeon will then stretch the skin and shape it by cutting away the excess and stitching the remaining skin into place. A hole for the navel will then be cut, and the navel will be stitched into place. This is usually done under general anesthesia.
Although this is up to the individual surgeon, liposuction is usually performed at the same time to create a nice contour.

Cell Therapy

WHAT IS CELL THERAPY?
The basic theory behind cell therapy was stated best by Paracelsus, a 16th-century physician who wrote: “Heart heals the heart, lung heals lung, spleen heals spleen; like cures like.” Paracelsus and many other early physicians believed that the best way to treat illness was to use living tissue to rebuild and revitalize ailing or aging tissue.
Modern orthodox medicine lost sight of this method, so it now uses chemicals to interrupt or override living processes. While chemicals and drugs work only until they are broken down by the body’s metabolic processes, cell therapy has a long-term effect, because it stimulates the body’s own healing and revitalizing powers.
Doctors who practice cell therapy believe that cell therapy acts like an organ transplant and actually makes the old cells to “act younger.” This biological “lesson” is not quickly forgotten by the cells.
In Europe, the effectiveness of cell therapy is widely accepted. In West Germany, for example, more than 5,000 German physicians regularly administer cell therapy injections. A great proportion of those injections are funded by the West German social security system. Several million patients the world over have received cell therapy injections since the mid-1950’s.
Swiss physician Paul Niehans discovered the beneficial effects of live cell therapy quite by accident. In 1931, Niehans was summoned by a colleague who had accidentally removed a patient’s parathyroid glands during the course of thyroid surgery.
So vital are these glands to life that there was little chance that the woman could survive the day without them. A successful transplant was the only chance the surgeon had of saving her. So Niehans, who had a reputation for therapeutically transplanting organs and glands, was called in.
On his way to the hospital, Niehans stopped off at the abattoir, where the animals he used in his revitalization experiments were slaughtered. He obtained fresh parathyroid glands from a steer and proceeded to the hospital, fully intending to perform a parathyroid transplant.
However, when Niehans arrived, one look at the patient- who was violently convulsing -told him that there was simply not enough time to perform the operation. The woman would not survive long enough.
But Niehans had an idea. He used a surgical knife to slice the steer’s parathyroid glands into finer and finer pieces, taking care not to mash the individual cells. He then mixed the pieces in a saline solution and loaded it into a large hypodermic needle. To the shock and dismay of his colleagues, Niehans injected the mixture into the fatally ill woman.

Immediately, her convulsions ceased. Her condition improved- and continued improving. To everyone’s surprise, including Niehan’s, she recovered. Niehans wrote, many years later, “I thought the effect would be short-lived, just like the effect of an injection of hormones, and that I should have to repeat the injection. But to my great surprise, the injection of fresh cells not only failed to provoke a reaction but the effect lasted, and longer than any synthetic hormone, any implant or any surgical graft.”
Longer indeed. The woman went on to live another 30 years, well into her 90s.
Thus was born cell therapy. At his Clinique La Prairie in Montreaux, Switzerland, Dr. Niehans went on to administer live cell injections to thousands and thousands of patients, including many of the crowned heads, presidents, Pope Pius XII, and several Hollywood stars.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM CELL THERAPY?
Dr. Niehans stated the ultimate aim of cell therapy in this way: “What I am striving after is not only to give more years to life but especially to give more life to years.” Niehan’s aim was to “make all the organs struck by old age capable once more of functioning properly and, at the same time, bring fresh strength to the whole body by revitalization of the sex glands.”
The problem that cell therapy is designed to solve include the following:

-general loss of vitality,
-physical and mental exhaustion,
-convalescence after illness,
-premature aging,
-signs of deterioration of the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, liver, and digestive organs,
-lack of drive and declining mental efficiency,
-weakness of the immune system,

HOW IS IT PROMOTED FOR USE?
In cell therapy, live or freeze-dried cells or pieces of cells from the healthy organs, fetuses, or embryos of animals such as sheep or cows are injected into patients. This is supposed to repair cellular damage and heal sick or failing organs. Cell therapy is promoted as an alternative therapy for cancer, arthritis, heart disease, Down syndrome, and Parkinson disease.
Cell therapy is also marketed to counter the effects of aging, reverse degenerative diseases, improve general health, increase vitality and stamina, and enhance sexual function. Some practitioners have proposed using cell therapy to treat AIDS patients.
The theory behind cell therapy is that the healthy animal cells injected into the body can find their way to weak or damaged organs of the same type and stimulate the body’s own healing process. The choice of the type of cells to use depends on which organ is having the problem. For instance, a patient with a diseased liver may receive injections of animal liver cells. Most cell therapists today use cells taken from taken from the tissue of animal embryos.
Supporters assert that after the cells are injected into the body, they are transported directly to where they are most needed. They claim that embryonic and fetal animal tissue contains therapeutic agents that can repair damage and stimulate the immune system, thereby helping cells in the body heal.
The alternative treatment cell therapy is very different from some forms of proven therapy that use live human cells. Bone marrow transplants infuse blood stem cells—from the patient or a carefully matched donor—after the patient’s own bone marrow cells have been destroyed. Studies have shown that bone marrow transplants are effective in helping to treat several types of cancer.
In another accepted procedure, damaged knee cartilage can be repaired by taking cartilage cells from the patient’s knee, carefully growing them in the laboratory, and then injecting them back into the joint. Approaches involving transplants of other types of human stem cells are being studied as a possible way to replace damaged nerve or heart muscle cells, but these approaches are still experimental.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
First, healthy live cells are harvested from the organs of juvenile or adult live animals, animal embryos, or animal fetuses. These cells may be taken from the brain, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, thymus gland, liver, kidney, pancreas, spleen, heart, ovaries, testicles, or even from whole embryos. Patients might receive one or several types of animal cells. Some cell therapists inject fresh cells into their patients.
Others freeze them first, which kills the cells, and they may filter out some of the cell components. Frozen cell extracts have a longer “shelf life” and can be screened for disease. Fresh cells cannot be screened. A course of cell therapy to address a specific disease might require several injections over a short period of time, whereas cell therapy designed to treat the effects of aging and “increase vitality” may involve injections received over many months.
Animal cell extracts are also sold in pill form as dietary supplements, usually called glandular supplements. These, too, allegedly travel to organs of the same kind in the body to promote healing.
arthritis and other degenerative diseases of the connective tissue,

-underfunction of the endocrine glands,
-disturbances of menopause,
-Parkinsonism,
-chronic pain, migraine, headaches, neuralgia, back pain, sciatica,
-atherosclerosis of the brain, heart, and peripheral circulation.

Cell therapy successfully revitalizes and extends youth. Cell therapists see their patients’ skin tone and complexion improve, their vitality increase, their youthful optimism and energy return, and various other infirmities of aging much improve.
Dr. Niehaus used cell therapy for alot more than youth extension. He used live cell injections not only to regenerate diseased or aged organs but also to stimulate development of underdeveloped or retarded organs. In fact, Niehans’s successful treatment of dwarfism provided him with some of his earliest notoriety in the United States.
The basic therapeutic effect of cell therapy was described Dr. Niehans as “organotropic cellular regeneration in the impaired organs.” In other words, the therapy stimulated the disease and aging-damaged organs to regenerate. This restoration usually takes anywhere from three to six months after the injections. Any immediate effect, explained Niehans, would have to be caused by hormones, not cellular regeneration.
Doctors who use cell therapy have reported that atherosclerosis patients also benefit. In a study performed on laboratory rats, cell therapy increased the residual pliability of aorta tissue to the extent that when stretched, it returned to its original shape much faster. This is a characteristic of younger tissue.
Experiments on connective tissue have shown that cell therapy can increase the strength and pliability of this important structural element of the body. The youthful appearance of your skin is determined in large part by the health of your connective tissue. But that’s not all.
How youthfully your joints, muscles, and blood vessels function also depends on the condition of your connective tissue. Since the success of several cosmetic surgery operations depends upon the strength and elasticity of the skin, a course of cell therapy before rejuvenating surgery is a good idea for older patients whose skin has lost its elasticity.
HOW DOES CELL THERAPY WORK?
Let’s be aware that cell therapy is practiced every day all over the world. Blood transfusion and the transfusion of various other blood components, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, blood platelets, is actually a form of cell therapy where the acceptance has been uniformly widespread. Less commonly, implant of the cells of the thymus have been utilized -essentially without as much as the wink of the eye of the medical authorities.
It is in Niehans cell therapy, where cells of various organs of the body are being injected into a human being, where there is a problem, particularly in the United States and Canada. All other civilized countries of the world accept cell therapy. Cell therapy is actually an implantation by injection of xenogenic (of animal origin) fetal or juvenile suspensions of cells or tissues in physiological solution.
No one knows exactly how cell therapy works. Basically, cell therapy is transplanting an organ; but instead of actually transplanting an organ, you are transplanting the cells of an organ. The transplanted cells then somehow bring about the revitalization of their corresponding organs.
We do not know all that there is yet to know about cell therapy. But we do know that the implantation by injection has the following advantages over conventional procedure of surgical transplant:
1. Implantation of cells by injection brings about a rapid dispersion of the cell material all over the body.
2. The cells are not injured due to lack of blood supplies during the dispersion, which is very commonly the reason for the death of cells after the organ transplant.
3. Since the cells are injected in the form of suspension, a rapid incorporation into the metabolic processes of the body occurs.
4. Organs that are impossible to transplant (such as the brain or some of the endocrine glands) or very difficult to transplant (such as kidneys, heart, or liver) can be implanted in the form of cells very easily.
5. Fetal tissues, with their higher biological potencies, are implanted in the recipient and used at various sites in the body. The recipient organism itself controls and carries out a selective incorporation of the various fetal cells.
Transplanting an entire organ is impractical, for several reasons. Your immune system might reject any transplanted organ. And who is going to risk trading an “old” organ or gland that is nonetheless functioning for a “new” one that might totally fail if the transplant doesn’t work? Thus, organ transplants today are limited to hopeless situations only.
If the body’s immune system rejects entire transplanted organs, is there also the possibility that it will reject the individual cells?
Very little. The fact is that the body usually accepts the individual cells injected during cell therapy. Again, we don’t know exactly why.

Perhaps this is so because cell therapy uses embryonic cells, whose immunological makeup is still incomplete. Whatever the reason, we do know the cells do somehow get by the body’s immune system.
But that’s not all. Not only do they get into the body, they also go straight to their corresponding organs. Liver cells go to the liver, spleen cells go to the spleen, sex gland cells go to the sex glands, and so on. Scientific studies, in which these glandular substances were tagged with radioisotopes before injection, have proved that the injected (and ingested) cells do find their way to the specific corresponding organ.
Once the cells have found their way to the target organs or glands, do they have the power to do any good?
The answer to that appears to be Yes, too. Independent studies by cellular biologists have discovered that a single cell from a specific organ contains the information needed to rebuild the entire organ or gland.

Scientists extracted kidney, skin, and liver cells from chick embryos. After processing them in much the same way the cells are processed for cell therapy, they were reinjected into the membrane of an egg. The cells developed into their specific organs.
Other independent research by scientists who were not cell therapists, and who were not investigating cell therapy, has arrived at many of the same conclusions used to explain cell therapy.
First of all, they have established that embryonic tissue has the greatest growth stimulating effect. This makes sense. Young living things always contain more “life force” than mature ones.
Secondly, they have confirmed that the growth stimulating effect of live cells is definitely organ specific but not species specific. This means that liver cells will only stimulate the growth of liver cells, but they will do so no matter what animal the cells come from.
Finally, it has been demonstrated that unwanted, or unnecessary, cells are rejected without doing harm to the body.
Two major theories explain how cells bring about revitalization of ailing or aging organ. One theory says that the genetic information contained in the RNA and DNA of the “old” cells is defective, because of either age or disease. Perhaps the old cells’ genetic codes have developed gaps or incorrect bits of information. If you remember my discussion of aging, this cellular genetic misinformation causes the cells to reproduce inefficiently. The new cells do not look or function as well as they should.
Along comes the fresh, young cells, with their fresh genetic information contained in their DNA and RNA. This theory says that the new cells carry the correct genetic message to the old cells. The new cells replace the misinformation with the proper, original genetic codes. The mistakes are corrected and the gaps filled. Once the correct information is in place, the organ or gland begins to function correctly -as if it, too, were as “young” as the donor cells.
The second theory is simpler. It explains the aging of the cells in much the same way: As we age, our cells gradually lose their ability to function precisely as they were intended. This theory, however, does not bother with genetic codes. It says that the mere presence of the fresh cells stimulates secretions that activate the aging or diseased cells to get back on the track and function properly.
The implantation provides the recipient organisms with a great number of biochemical substrates and enzymes that are found in very high concentrations and unique composition in the fetal and juvenile cells and tissues.
There are many things we don’t know about biochemical engineering. Perhaps we shall not know exactly how cell therapy works until cellular biologists unlock all the secrets of the cell.

Anti-Oxidant

Description
Antioxidants are a broad group of compounds that destroy single oxygen molecules, also called free radicals, in the body, thereby protecting against oxidative damage to cells. They are essential to good health and are found naturally in a wide variety of foods and plants, including many fruits and vegetables. Many antioxidants, either singly or in combination, are also available as over-the-counter nutritional supplements in tablet or capsule form. The most commonly used antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta carotene. Others include grape seed extract, vitamin A, selenium, and coenzyme Q10. It is unknown whether or not supplemental antioxidants provide the same benefits as those occurring naturally in foods, however.
General Use
In brief, antioxidants destroy free radicals in the body. Free radicals are byproducts of oxygen metabolism that can damage cells and are among the causes of many degenerative diseases, especially diseases associated with aging. They are also associated with the aging process itself. As a person ages, cell damage accumulates, and supplementing the diet with extra antioxidant-rich foods can help slow the oxidative damage done to cells. Scientific studies validate the role of antioxidants in preventing many diseases. Although studies have shown lower rates of cancer and heart disease in people who eat a recommended amount of fruits and vegetables, recent clinical studies have shown that supplementation of diet with antioxidant vitamin therapy does not lower risk of cardiovascular disease or certain other diseases.
Many herbs and medicinal plants are good natural sources of antioxidants. These include carrots, tomatoes, yams, leafy greens, blueberries, billberries, ginkgo biloba, garlic, and green tea, to name a few. A diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta carotene may help reduce the risk of some cancers, heart disease, cataracts, and strokes.
Vitamin a
A study by the University of Arizona found that vitamin A has a protective affect against many types of cancer, according to Dr. Michael Colgan in his book, The New Nutrition. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble antioxidant found in animal products but can be made by the body from its precursor, beta carotene. Foods rich in vitamin A are liver, eggs, and fortified dairy products. Vitamin A helps bones and teeth develop, and promotes vision. As an antioxidant, it protects cell membranes and fatty tissue, helps repair damage caused by air pollutants, and boosts the immune system. A deficiency of this vitamin can result in dry skin, brittle hair, vision problems, blindness, and increased susceptibility to respiratory infections.
Vitamin C
Probably the most widely used of all vitamin supplements, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that has a myriad of functions and helps strengthen the immune system. It became famous in the 1970s when Nobel Prize-winning scientist Linus Pauling advocated daily mega doses (8-10 grams) of vitamin C to prevent and ease the symptoms of the common cold. Many clinical studies that show vitamin C is superior to over-the-counter medicines in reducing the symptoms, duration, and severity of colds. As an antioxidant, vitamin C may help fight cardiovascular disease by protecting the linings of arteries from oxidative damage. In 2002, debate still continued on the vitamin’s effects on heart disease. One study revealed that Vitamins C and E helped reduce arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) following heart transplants. Yet another study demonstrated that vitamin therapy had not effect on preventing heart disease. There is some evidence and research that vitamin C can help prevent cancer. Studies have shown it is also beneficial in protecting the body against the effects of smoking and air pollutants.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant by itself, but its effectiveness is magnified when taken with other antioxidants, especially vitamin C, selenium, and beta carotene. Some scientific evidence indicates that vitamin E helps promote cardiovascular health.
Past studies have demonstrated higher vitamin E intake is associated with decreased incidence of heart disease in both men and women.
In fact, the combination of Vitamin C and E can slow progression of cardiovascular disease following heart transplant. In 2002, researchers stated that the vitamin combination might also be useful in other organ transplants. In addition, Harvard Medical School reported in the same year that Vitamin E might play a role in helping people live longer, citing its role in strengthening the immune system.
Carotenoids
This class of antioxidants includes beta carotene, lutein, and lycopene. They are found in a variety of fruits and vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins, kale, spinach, tomatoes, and pink grapefruit. Research evidence suggests carotenoids lower the risk of heart disease and some types of cancer, and strengthen the immune system.
Lycopene, which is concentrated in the prostate gland, is believed to protect the prostate from cancer. Lutein is thought to prevent macular degeneration, a major cause of blindness, or stop its progression. Beta carotene increases the lungs’ defense system in smokers or those exposed to other air-borne pollutants. It also has been used as an immune system stimulator in people with AIDS.

In 2002, a report revealed that more than 90% of ophthalmologists and optometrists surveyed believe that lutein helps prevent eye disease.
Bioflavonoids
Bioflavonoids are a group of about 5,000 compounds that act as antioxidants. They occur in fruits, vegetables, green tea, soy products, herbs, and spices. A combination of bioflavonoids has a synergistic effect when taken with vitamin C. They have been shown to be beneficial in treating a variety of conditions, including allergies, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, and viral infections. One group of bioflavonoids found to be a powerful antioxidant is oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), also known generically as pycnogenol.
Extremely high concentrations of OPCs are found in maritime pine bark (Pinus maritima) extract, grape seed extract, and grape and peanut skins. Due primarily to its much lower cost, grape seed extract is the most commonly used OPC. Procyanidins, a group of compounds found in the extract, are thought to increase the effectiveness of other antioxidants, especially vitamin C and vitamin E, by helping them regenerate after neutralizing free radicals in the blood and tissue.
Other Antioxidants
The other widely used antioxidants are selenium, coenzyme Q10, and certain amino acids. Selenium, especially when teamed with vitamin E, may help protect against lung, colon, prostate, and rectum cancers. The antioxidant benefits of coenzyme Q10 may include slowing the aging process, boosting the immune system, and preventing oxidative damage to the brain.
Some still suggest its use to treat a variety of cardiovascular diseases. Amino acids that have strong antioxidant effects include alpha lipoic acid, cysteine, glutathione, and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC).
Preparations
Bottled antioxidant formulae are available in a single pill or as part of a multivitamin. The usual dosages of antioxidants taken individually can vary widely. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has established recommended daily allowance, but these may be conservative amounts for preventing diseases.
For instance, the USDA recommendation for vitamin C is 60 mg a day but natural healthcare practitioners commonly recommend 500 mg a day or more. The dosage may also depend on whether it is being taken to treat or prevent a specific condition. With that in mind,
the common daily dosages for specific antioxidants are:
-vitamin A, 5,000-15,000 IU
-beta carotene, 15,000-25,000 IU
-vitamin C, 250-1,500 mg
-vitamin E, 30-400 IU
-selenium, 50-400 micrograms
-bioflavonoids, 100-500 mg
-grape seed extract, 150-200 mg
-coenzyme Q10, 90-150 mg
-alpha lipoic acid, 20-50 mg or 300-600 mg for elevated blood sugar levels
-glutathione, 100 mg
-N-acetyl cysteine, 600 mg.

Precautions
-Vitamin C: May interfere with some laboratory tests, including urinary sugar spilling for diabetics.
-Vitamin A: Can be toxic in high doses of more than 15,000 IU per day or chronic doses for months, and may cause birth defects if taken in high doses during pregnancy. In 2002, one study showed that consistent Vitamin A intake could increase the risk of hip fractures in postmenopausal women, but the study was not representative of all women, and more study on the upper limits of safe Vitamin A consumption for women in their 40s and 50s is needed.
-Vitamin E: Dangerous in very high doses. Carotenoids: No known precautions are indicated for normal doses.
-Bioflavonoids: No known precautions are indicated for normal doses.
-Selenium: No precautions indicated at normal doses, but a physician should be consulted before taking daily doses of more than 200 micrograms.
-Coenzyme Q10: No known precautions are indicated for normal dosage.
-Amino acids: There are no known precautions indicated for alpha lipoic acid, cysteine, glutathione, or NAC.
Side Effects
-Vitamin C: Individual tolerances vary. High doses may cause cramps, diarrhea, ulcer flare-ups, kidney stones, and gout in some people.
-Vitamin A: High doses can lead to headaches, nausea, hair loss, and skin lesions; may cause bone disease in people with chronic kidney failure.
-Vitamin E: Usually no adverse side effects in doses of up to 400 mg a day, high doses may elevate blood pressure and lead to blood-clotting problems.
-Carotenoids: No known side effects occur with normal dosage.
-Bioflavonoids: No known negative side effects in normal doses.

Skin Whitening

Everybody admires someone with a pale skin tone. The very urge of flaunting a porcelain complexion no-doubt hovers around everyone’s mind at some point of his or her life.
Skin whitening
is a craze for every community around the world. Light skinned people epitomize demureness but due to harsh sun rays and other factors such as aging and environment, our skin suffers darkening.
The obsession for flaunting a lighter appearance is driving people crazy to take up extreme steps like skin whitening injections and laser resurfacing treatments. These techniques can be fatal if not executed properly. It has various side effects.
It is always advisable to perform natural and safe methods for attaining a whitercomplexion.
Glutathione is the key ingredient used by skin whitening injections that can easily pose dangers to your body. This ingredient can cause various deadly diseases such as liver damage, thyroid disorders and leukemia. It can also cause nausea, vomiting and stomachache.
What is GLUTATHIONE??
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that exists within every cell in the body. It’s used as a medical treatment, and its effectiveness in many medical conditions continues to be researched in ongoing clinical trials. Because it’s synthesized in the body from amino acids, it’s not an essential dietary nutrient–but the amino acid building blocks must be provided to ensure adequate levels of glutathione.

Definition

Glutathione is a protein that’s produced in the liver from three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine. It exists as a single molecule called reduced glutathione and as two molecules joined together, which is oxidized glutathione. These two forms are the key to its important role as an antioxidant.

Antioxidants

Within the cells of the body, many chemical reactions are at work to create energy, build and break down tissues. Although the reactions are responsible for essential products such as energy, they also create byproducts called free radicals that can interact with cell tissues and cause damage to the cell. Antioxidants grab the free radicals and render them harmless. The reduced from of glutathione is available to all cells in the body, ready to serve as an antioxidant to stop damage from free radicals. One example of this occurs in red blood cells where glutathione reduces peroxides. Without enough glutathione, the peroxide would attack the plasma membranes and the red blood cells would decompose.

Other Functions

Glutathione serves other critical functions. In the kidney, glutathione interacts with amino acids to transport them across the cell membrane and into the cell. It functions as an enzyme involved in the formation of deoxyribonucleotides, which are the building blocks of DNA. Glutathione joins with drugs to make them more water soluble. In this role, it’s essential for the detoxification of acetaminophen. It participates in the synthesis of leukotrienes, which are molecules that help regulate the immune response.

Supplements

According to information provided by Samuel Uretsky at the Gale Group, oral glutathione supplements don’t actually increase the levels of glutathione inside the cells. In fact, “supplements of vitamin C are more effective at increasing intracellular glutathione than taking oral glutathione supplements.
” Supplements of alpha-lipoic acid and whey protein also help improve intracellular levels of glutathione. They work by increasing the elements necessary to synthesize glutathione, especially cysteine. One example of the many studies showing this relationship was published in the Journal of Cystic Fibrosis in December 2003, in which Grey, Mohammed et al. demonstrated that whey-based products increased glutathione levels in patients with cystic fibrosis. Their conclusion said, “This nutritional approach may be useful in maintaining optimal levels of GSH and counteract the deleterious effects of oxidative stress in the lung in cystic fibrosis.”

Clinical Uses

In the same way that it detoxifies acetaminophen, glutathione is being used to reduce the toxicity of drugs used during chemotherapy. The Food and Drug Administration has classified it as an orphan drug in the treatment of lean tissue and weight loss related to AIDS. Clinical trials indicate its effectiveness is being or has been studied for a wide range of conditions–including cystic fibrosis, diabetes, neuropathy, different types of cancer (breast, lung, pancreatic), hepatitis C and autism.

Natural Skin Whitening Methods

  • You should perform regular cleansing and moisturizing for whitening your complexion. You should keep your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water. Weekly exfoliation can easily remove your dead cells.
  • Taking proper diet and rest can also stimulate the process of skin whitening. You should eat nutritious foods such as fruits and vegetables for flushing out toxins.
  • Protection from sunlight can easily promote skin lightening. You should preferably apply a good sun block with high SPF before stepping out of your home.
  • Apply bleaching cream and lotions to inhibit the production of melanin. You should preferably use meladerm for whitening your complexion. This cream contains natural ingredients such as lemon juice extract, licorice extract, emblica powder, niacinamide (Vitamin B3), kojic acid and Alpha-Arbutin.
Most people associate Vitamin C with fighting off cold and flu viruses, but one of its main functions is in skin health and the production of collagen. Collagen is responsible for wound healing, a healthy appearance, helps prevent wrinkles and aging of the skin, it’s also the glue that holds cells together so it’s extremely important for cell structure. It’s the main protein structure in connective tissue.
Collagen makes up about 30% of the body’s protein content.
We know that many women have collagen injections to help saggy under eye skin and to plump lips. It could be if those people added extra Vitamin C to their daily nutrient intake, they could avoid some of those costly injections. Collagen is also used to help reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles.
Many bed-ridden patients suffer from bed sores and abscesses. A study at the Human Tissue Reconstruction Institute in Chicago conducted a test many years ago and concluded that Vitamin C is highly effective in treating these maladies when other conventional treatments didn’t work. Doctor’s prepared of poultice of simple and complex sugars along with Vitamin C and amino acids to treat the wounds once a day. These sores had shown no signs of improving by other methods but after these solutions were applied, patients showed almost immediate improvements. Complete healing still took time, but the wounds stayed cleaner and lost their foul smell within a few days. The patients who received this treatment also had less signs of scarring.
Another study conducted at the University of Genoa in Italy had patients who suffered from boils and abscesses that wouldn’t heal. After taking high doses of Vitamin C the patients recovered and many had no signs of skin ailments after a year.
Contain:
Vitamin C also known as, ascorbic acid.

VITAMIN C
Subcutaneous infusions of vitamin C should only be used for emergency situations, such as combating advanced cases of scurvy.
Injections are also an invasive procedure. It breaks the skin. The biggest danger from injections is not so much a dirty needle as it is dirty skin.
Needles can push bacteria and other contaminants that normally reside safely on the surface of the skin beneath the skin causing a nasty and ugly condition called orbital cellulites.
Cellulites is only treatable by intravenous infusions of antibiotics, takes a long time to cure, leaves nasty scars and can result in amputation if the infection travels to the bone.

If you eat a regular balanced diet (a good mix of fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and meats) get enough exercise and rest and keep stress levels down, you do not need to take vitamin supplements.
The body’s absorption of vitamins through supplemental oral means (pills, liquids, gels) is minimal and most of the vitamins taken this way are excreted through urine and feces without ever being absorbed into the body.
Vitamin C injections regular dose of 1000 mg or more, are used in many third world countries for skin whitening or bleaching.
It is used mainly in places where the lighter your skin, the better your job and life opportunities are.
South Africa banned the practice almost 20 years ago and it has never been legal for use in the United States.

Ascorbic acid assists in the biosynthesis of many connective-tissue components. These are: collagen gene expression, elastin, procollagen secretions, fibronectin, proteoglycans, bone matrix and elastin-associated fibrillin.
Injecting vitamin C into the skin does not assist with this process.

Vitamin C comes is a couple of forms known as L-ascorbic acid and L-dehydroascorbic acid. It is critical in iron absorption, storage and movement.
If you look at the chemical matrix you will see how ascorbic acid reduces ferric iron to ferrous iron.
This reduces the amount of cell damaging oxygen in our bodies through oxidation of the iron. Too much vitamin C and your risk reducing the amount of oxygen our bodies need to survive.
Another risk factor, especially in older males, is that it can increase to toxic levels, especially for the prostate, the amount of iron stored in the blood.

You really only need about 5 to 10 milligrams a day of vitamin C.
Can you see the danger of regular 1000 milligram injections?
You are looking at over 100 times the amount your body needs n a day! While the body can typically get rid of an over abundance of vitamin C in its regular processes, can you imagine how you would overtax you bodies ability to remove waste by-products by over indulging?

About 5% to 10% of the total vitamin C content of fresh fruits and vegetables is comprised of dehydroascorbic acid. In the case of processed foods, dehydroascorbic acid makes up about 30% of the vitamin C content.
D-ascorbic acid (erythorbic acid or isoascorbic acid), the epimer of L-ascorbic acid, is frequently added to food as an antioxidant preservative.
Erythorbic acid has very low vitamin C activity.

The molecular formula of Vitamin C is C6H8O6. (Six atoms Carbon, 8 Atoms Hydrogen and 6 atoms Oxygen.)
It is a very organized and relatively stable crystal. But when you look at 6.022 x 10^(-23) you can begin to see where some carbon bumping will occur.
This is good for the most part in amounts the body can handle, but start exceeding this and where will the excess carbon manifest?

When taking 30 to 150 milligrams of supplemental doses of Vitamin C, 70% to 90% is absorbed. At doses up to about 500 milligrams, absorption still occurs but as the dose of supplemental ascorbic acid increases, the percentage of its absorption proportionately decreases.
At doses over 500 milligrams, absorption ceases, replaced by diffusion.
Storage then occurs in the pituitary gland and other areas of the body and its antioxidant properties are reduced.

Side-effects of large dose vitamin C intake.
Using Vitamin C in supplemental manners elevates it to the status of a drug and has commensurate side-effects.
Vitamin C derived from grapefruits and used in supplements can have even more detrimental effects.

-If you have or have had kidney stones taking more than the daily allowance of Vitamin C is dangerous.
-If you have renal system problems (serum creatine levels) also be careful of excess amounts of Vitamin C.
Because ascorbic acid plays an important role in iron absorbtion, an overload of vitamin C can cause problems in people with anemia, sickle cell anemia, hemochromatosis, erythrocyte G6PD deficiency, thalassemia, or sideroblastic.
-If you are pregnant, intending to get pregnant within six months, or nursing avoid high amounts of vitamin C.

In healthy adults the most common adverse reaction when taking oral doses greater than 3 grams a day are gastrointestinal. Symptoms are nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhea and farting a lot.
This comes from unabsorbed vitamin C passing through the intestines.

Rare adverse reactions include elevated serum glucose levels in males, intestinal obstruction in females and esophagitis.
Antacids don’t mix well with high doses of vitamin C and can cause urinary track problems, usually of great concern to women. High dose aspirin can also cause problems when combined with high vitamin C use.
While some research suggests that vitamin C and its antioxidant properties can help prevent certain types of cancers, vitamin C supplements or high levels in the blood can counteract chemotherapy, thus interfering with the treatment of existing cancer.
Ascorbic Acid can increase estrogen inhibition of oxidized LDL formation, an important consideration for women entering menopause.
High doses in some research actually suggests an adverse effect on collagen. This is the glue that holds your skin to your body. Lose collagen and your skin starts to sag and wrinkle. Vitamin C is an important part of the chain that causes amino acids to coalesce into pro-collagen, the pre-curser to collagen.
In this process a molecule of ascorbic acid is destroyed. One reason why we need to continually ingest vitamin C. Once again, however, continuous mega doses can create problems in the collagen function.

Overall, vitamin C may be the most important and useful chemical reactive agent in our bodies.
However, like anything else, overuse and misuse is bad news.

Generally in healthy adults high amounts of vitamin C is not considered toxic.
The excess is passed through the urine without being used but can cause high stress on the urinary system.
Injecting vitamin C is a long-term effects that you may experience ten or 20 years down the line.

Anti-Aging

Why Wrinkles Are Form?
Ageing is the most obvious cause of wrinkles. As we get older, our cells take longer to regenerate and our dermis (the inner skin) starts to thin. With age, we also produce less collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, natural substances that give our skin the structure, stretch, volume and bounce it needs to remain youthful.
But that’s not all. The skin’s ability to hold moisture diminishes. What happens then is that the skin becomes dry and scaly, loses its elasticity, sags and forms furrows and wrinkles.
How Wrinkles Form?
Persistent small muscle contractions, which happen when our faces form expressions, cause wrinkles and expression lines to form. Of course, the older we get, the more deeply ingrained in our skin these lines are. But did you know that prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun (photoageing) is a big cause of premature ageing? Cigarette smoke and pollution also hasten the ageing process by producing free radicals which attack the skin. Rapid weight loss is also a cause of wrinkles as the volume of fat cells that cushion the face is drastically reduced. This causes the skin to sag.
Uneven skin texture, sunspots, blotchiness, fine lines and wrinkles are usually the early signs of aging. Generally the first line of defense when tackling the early signs of aging includes non-prescription skin creams and lotions with anti aging ingredients and these products typically contain antioxidants – substances that speed up cell turnover and increase collagen production.
Defense anti aging with antioxidants
- Vitamin A.
Widely used as antioxidant in skin care products which proven effective in treating the signs of photo aging, including fine lines and wrinkles, sunspots and uneven skin texture.
- Vitamin C.
Considered a potent antioxidant for skin. It is essential for the production of collagen and wound healing. I t plays an important role in making the skin smooth and soft.
- Copper peptides.
A relatively new entry in the anti aging arena, copper peptides are antioxidants that play a part in collagen synthesis. Studies have shown that products containing this substance help produce new collagen, which in turn improved fine lines and wrinkles as well as overall skin firmness and appearance. Skin thickness was also improved.
Natural moisturizing factor
Other typical ingredients in anti aging skin creams and lotions include products that help hold moisture in the skin, such as hyaluronic acid, which improves the appearance of the skin and makes fine lines look less noticeable.
With consistent use, these products will restore some elasticity to the skin and reduce the appearance of superficial lines and wrinkles.
Expectations
However, they won’t work miracles, nor will they attack deeper lines and wrinkles. For this, more powerful products and procedures are necessary.
Aging Process

How we age is dependent on two factors :
lifestyle and genes. If your parents aged well, then you will probably carry on looking good for a long time too. But how we live, even where we live, can also have a major impact on how we age. Here’s how some lifestyle factors can add years, even decades, to our faces :-
Sun bedding - add 20 years!According to an increasing number of dermatologists, sunbeds are even damaging to the skin than direct sunlight, because they emit pure UVA rays, which penetrate deep into the skin, causing long-term damage. Avoid entirely.
Sun Exposure - add 10 years! Sunlight creates free radicals that break down the lipids in the cell walls, leading to water loss, inflammation and sun damage. It also damages the genetic material in the developing cells, creating sun spots, some of which (over-exposure) will progress to skin cancer.
Severe stress - add 10 years! Although stress may not show up on your skin but it creates free radicals which can lead to premature aging. Try to reduce stress by finding new ways to relax and slow down.
Excessive alcohol -add 10 years! Drinking causes skin to get dehydrated and effects greatly through malnutrition. Alcohol depletes the body of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin A which contains antioxidants that help the skin look and feel healthy.
Excessive caffeine consumption -add 2 years! Too much caffeine can cause the skin to get dehydrated. Other effects of caffeine that may indirectly link to skin aging are insomnia, anxiety and depression.
Sleep deprivation -add 5 years! Insomnia, lack of sleep or missed sleep may lead to obesity and premature aging. Sleep is necessary for our bodies to build up energy reserves and regenerates body cells and tissues.
Crash dieting -add 10 years! Yo-yo dieting deprives your skin of vital nutrients. If you loose weight quickly, your skin will also stretch and sag.
Malnutrition -add 5 years! If a nutrition-poor diet, especially one lacking in vitamins A, C, E and folic acid yet high in fat and salt. Many vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids only come from food. So no skin care product can replace them.
City Life - add 5 years! The urban pollution has the capabilities of damaging the skin’s protective film, producing cell-aging and triggering free radicals. Try a skin cream rich in antioxidants to clear up the damage.
Cigarette smoke -add 10 years! Cigarette smoke (inhaled or secondhand) speeds up skin aging. It creates free radicals that can damage cell DNA and reduces the absorption of vitamin C which is a vital antioxidant for healthy skin.
